Venice Interfaith Community Association
Venice, Florida
A Warm Welcome!
Our Heritage
Founded in 2004, the Venice Interfaith Community Association was born from the idea that our community was growing, not only in size, but in diversity. Although many Christian denominations were represented in the Venice area there was no group that embraced the growing Jewish and Muslim populations. We further understood that all these faith-based organizations are a powerful force for community betterment and global understanding. It is the intent of the Venice Interfaith Community Association to be an active presence in Venice area community affairs.

Respect and Understanding
As the world shrinks it is increasingly important to go beyond mere tolerance of others’ beliefs. The Venice Interfaith Community Association sponsors forums to educate members about the history and customs of other belief systems. Wherever possible speakers representing those communities lead the discussions and moderate lively dialogue celebrating both our differences and our similarities.

Cooperation
The Venice Interfaith Community Association believes that working together on community projects strengthens understanding and respect. To that end, the volunteers identify themselves as VICA members in projects such as the Faith In Action program of the Senior Friendship center.
Programs are planned to increase visibility in the Venice area while participating in various community organizations. VICA is a member of the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce. In addition, special projects, such as the Sarasota
Interfaith/Interagency Network for disaster relief use the VJCA organization to gather volunteers.
